What are mikki training discs used for?

I was googling a type of clicker and came across a UK dog training supply site - and I saw Mikki Training Discs. We do not have them in the US and I have never seen them before. Are they for targeting or something else (have not found a great description of what they are for).

We are always in the yard w/ them

They are never out there alone. We can see 3 of the 4 sidewalks clearly and know about 85% of the time when a dog is coming and can get their attention, but it is when a dog walks past that we didn't catch in time is the problem.
