Here is an update since my last post. With regards to the recall sessions, I have not found a totally secluded area yet. My pup Daisie (she is now 7months) used to eat her pooh and anything else she could find when we went for walks. I taught her the 'leave it' command and will now leave anything alone when I issue the command. Maybe you could incorporate that command along with the change of food.
