Since the say 'cheese' pic his body and coat condition have improved enormously - even our unsentimental local farmers admire him. I prefer floppy ears in a border collie though. Even when he is asleep his ears are upright. I call them his 'cartoon ears'
Plus he is just so responsive, people assume I have had him from a puppy. He has done very well considering we didn't know his old name so even his name was new. I just have to whisper it and he is by my side.
The rescue - and even me - did everything to find out if anyone was looking for him, but I suspect he was just 'let go' because he was no longer useful around sheep.

Border collies are such fabulous looking dogs. And of course super smart too.
